Meet Team Ross!
We have a wonderful group of volunteers! Each volunteer "plays" with Ross 2-4 hours a week! We have one group meeting a month to discuss and brainstorm ideas to make Ross's program as effective as possible. We are still looking for more volunteers so if you or anyone you know are interested please go to the volunteer page and apply!
Caryn
Caryn has had previous experience with children on the spectrum. She also has been a pre-school teacher. She LOVES everything about the Son-Rise Program. Caryn loves it so much that she is planning on pursuing a career as a Son-Rise practitioner. All these ingredients make Caryn the PERFECT person to come work with Ross every single day!! Ross has fallen madly in love with Caryn!!!! And so have we!!
Craig & Marissa (The Dynamic Duo)
Craig and Marissa are our father-daughter team! They are a spectacularly dynamic duo. Craig works as an IT Manager in Woodland and 11-year-old Marissa will be entering 7th grade! Marissa saw one of our fliers and instantly wanted to help...and drag dad into the whole experience. They are an amazing team and Ross LOVES playing with them!
Laura
Laura is a senior in high school. Over achievers beware! Not only does she run cross-country and track, she is also in the high school band AND a Challenge Day Student Leader AND takes loads of AP courses! She loves playing UP with Ross and writing all over his chalkboard walls! She is a natural and Ross is delighted to play with her twice a week!
Allie
Allie is going to start her first year at Sac State in the Fall! She has been playing with Ross since September of 2010 and still LOVES it!! She will study Biology in preparation for being a doctor!!! WOW!! Ross loves playing with her so much she is going to be with us all summer long, each and every day!!!
Elizabeth
Elizabeth is a student at Sac State. She is studying to become an Occupational Therapist for children so this gig is perfect training for her! Ross and Elizabeth play the Question Game a lot and Ross always asks where Elizabeth is! Elizabeth is originally from San Jose and often drives all the way back here to Sacramento to have her session with Ross. Elizabeth took a semester off to go to Germany, but she's BACK! She's playing with Ross each morning and Ross is LOVIN' IT!!!
GG
GG is Ross's very first volunteer! When we told her about our plans for our program she instantly said, "I want to do it!" She is a grandmother of three and absolutely loves everything about the Son-Rise Program! GG was once an elementary school teacher and met Ross's mom and dad when she was doing marketing for a local engineering firm. GG is on our injured reserved list, but is ALWAYS in our hearts! We miss you much, GG
