08-29-10 Lorna playing Elmo in Grouchland
Goals I am focusing on with this game: Interactive Attention Span AND participation.
07-12-10 Lorna introducing a game
First of all, it is probably not particularly "Son-Rise" to have a game be about "good" and "bad" eggs, but that's what's in the original Willy Wonka movie so I went with it! LOL!
I have to say in advance that my original plan was to print out these really cool "golden egg" images I found on Google Images, but just as I was preparing for this game, my printer wouldn't work! So I ended up cutting the eggs from yellow paper. I allowed the whole situation to trip me up a bit, so I recognized when I watched this, that my three E's were not where I typically have them. It really hits home that if I'm not buying into the game, Ross probably won't either.
The first 10 minutes he plays along. The next 15 or so he starts to become exclusive and then he ism's a bit with the picnic stuff that was left behind from the last session. The two things I want you to see in this portion of the video are 1) I am completely flexible and I drop the egg game (however I stay persistent at times seeing if he'll come back to it), and 2) I WEAVE the "eggs" back into the picnic scenario every chance I get.
Also...it is hard to see, but Ross is going in and out of exclusivity when we're playing "picnic," but I go with him. The interaction in the picnic theme is just as phenomenal as when we were playing the game (maybe even more so).
The last 5 minutes or so of the video we finish the game. Notice how super excited I get, when Ross wants to come back to my game. That is not by accident. When he comes back I want him to know how much I love that he's coming back to me and what I want to do!
Hope this is helpful. Sorry I didn't get a shot of the "egg" posters...but they just had "Good Eggs" on one and "Bad Eggs" on the other, with outlines of where the eggs would go.

Our goals at the moment are:
1) Eye Contact (7-8 sec)
2) Interactive Attn Span with Building (10 min)
3) Loving Ross and his isms
4) We are also beginning to "initiate" board games by building them into his isms.
This particular day, however, my intention was to have "physical play" with Ross. I wanted us to be as physical as he would let us be...
